This afternoon I chaired a cross party meeting of MPs and called for the environment, communities and workers to be pivotal to the aviation sector’s recovery from the pandemic.
At Transport Questions on the 12th of March I had the following exchange with the Minister, Kelly Tolhurst MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, regarding the Court of Appeal’s February decision on the expansion of Heathrow Airport:
Today the Court of Appeal have vindicated the concerns of my constituents and of environmental campaigners across the Country. The full environmental impact has not previously been given sufficient consideration and the economic case for a third runway at Heathrow has been consistently overstated.
