The National Trust’s Blossom Watch is an annual celebration of blossom season in the UK and highlights the importance of connecting with nature.
This spring has fortunately brought with it some fantastic weather, with many of us encouraged to spend more time outdoors. I have therefore been inspired to extend this celebration to the many wonderful greenspaces and nature across Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner.
In addition to the beautiful blossom trees, other examples are the bluebells at Old Park Wood in Harefield, the wonderfully-maintained flowers at Pinner Village Gardens and the colourful display in the walled garden at Eastcote House Gardens – to name a few.
A YouGov poll commissioned by the National Trust found that over two thirds of adults believed noticing nature around them made them feel happier. The physical and mental benefits of the outdoors are also well-known. With so much gloom in the headlines, there is no better time to step outside and appreciate the many wonderful places we have on our doorsteps.
I am keen to hear from residents about their favourite spot in the constituency, so please do get in touch with your views and/or photos.
