I am delighted that both Haydon School and Nower Hill High School have been successful in their applications to the Department for Education’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for 2026-27.
This is the main capital funding stream used to keep schools and sixth form colleges safe and in good working order. In this latest round, 813 projects at 684 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools have been approved, supported by over £450million of investment.
The fund was heavily oversubscribed and so in light of such demand, it is commendable that both Haydon and Nower Hill have been successful. This is testament to strong applications and excellent leadership.
I have written to both schools to extend my congratulations, and I look forward to hearing more about their plans in due course.
