Hillingdon has been at the forefront of protecting children from exploitation and trafficking stemming from Heathrow Airport. During my time on the council and at the Local Government Association, I was closely involved in leading our response to these issues. I therefore used today’s statement on Baroness Casey’s Review into Grooming Gangs to ask the Home Secretary about the response of the Government.
In particular, I was keen to stress the importance of information sharing between investigating authorities and accountability.
I welcome the sincerity of the Home Secretary’s response to my statement, which highlighted the importance of both collaboration and accountability in the upcoming national inquiry.
