I am proud to have completed my fourth London Marathon, with a finishing time of 06:35:05.
Previously, I have run in support of the William Low Trust and Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, two very important local causes, and national charities of great significance to constituents, the Alzheimer's Society and Prostate Cancer UK.
This year, it was a privilege to be fundraising for a charity that I know is close to many hearts locally; Michael Sobell Hospice in Northwood. Having spoken with residents, I understand how invaluable their services have been to those living with serious or terminal illness, and their families, in Hillingdon and the surrounding areas.
At the start of the year, I had the opportunity to see this work first-hand on a visit to the hospice, where I met with some of the excellent staff and family members of those under their care. Its importance was further highlighted when speaking with fellow runners along the route, who expressed prior knowledge of the hospice.
I am delighted to have reached a total of £1730 in donations, and I would like to sincerely thank all those who have made such generous donations. I know this will go some way in supporting the vital work of Michael Sobell.
There is still time to contribute. Please visit my fundraising page for more details.
