Residents will know that the Northwood and Pinner Cottage Hospital site on Pinner Road is an issue that long predates my time as Member of Parliament. Following many years of work – including that of my predecessors – with NHS Property Services, the Northwest Integrated Care System and Hillingdon Council, the project was finally given the green light.
However, it has become clear that, despite reassurances from the NHS that funding is available, contracts signed and work already having got underway to prepare for construction, it appears that since the election further bureaucratic delays have occurred and stopped the project in its tracks.
I have written to the new Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, to express frustration and concern about this delay and have urged his Department to ensure that the project is put back on track as a matter of urgency. Given the years of hard work that have gone into this, we cannot afford any further setbacks to the delivery of this vital healthcare hub.
