This afternoon, I raised a Point of Order in the Commons on the future of Mount Vernon’s Urgent Care Centre.
I was deeply concerned when I found out that the local NHS trust had decided to close Mount Vernon’s urgent care facilities and force residents into Hillingdon Hospital’s A&E. I sought to raise this issue in the Chamber as soon as possible.
Having been unable to ask an Urgent Question, I instead raised a Point of Order to bring the Speaker’s attention to the poor communication from the Secretary of State for Health, Wes Streeting. Having written to him in April, I have been disappointed not to have received a response to date.
As the Deputy Speaker stated, this is discourteous and has left my constituents without reassurances that the Department for Health was taking this matter seriously. I will seek further opportunities to raise this matter in Westminster when time allows.
