It is always a pleasure to join the team at Tesco in Pinner Green to show my support for the Winter Food Collection, taking place this year between 27 and 29 November.
Speaking with the in-store team and volunteers, I was interested to see first-hand how their work helps to support the most vulnerable in our communities, as well as to learn about the other initiatives Tesco has in place.
Customers are encouraged to help by picking up a donation bag in-store, donating a toy or essential food item(s). The shopping list this year is as follows:
- Tinned fish
- Tinned meat & pies
- Tinned vegetarian meals
- Long-life juice
- UHT milk
- Sponge & rice puddings
- Tinned fruit & vegetables
- Tea & instant coffee
- Cereals
- Cooking sauces
- Tinned beans & pulses
- Dried pasta, noodles & rice
- Tinned soup & dried pot meals
- Snacks e.g. dried fruit, nuts & biscuits
- Peanut butter, preserves & condiments
- Cooking oil
- Toilet roll
- Toiletries, such as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and deodorant
I am extremely grateful to all for their efforts to help support charities to provide food to those facing hardship this winter.
