This morning, I was delighted to visit Shaftesbury High School, a special needs school in Hatch End.
This was following a number of letters I received last month from pupils raising their concerns on a variety of local and national issues. Having responded to each letter individually, the visit was an opportunity to talk some more about the the issues raised, including knife crime prevention, the environment, SEND provision and - one of the most popular requests - putting more swings in The Cedars. I have promised pupils I will write to Harrow Council to share their thoughts and ideas.
I also visited ‘Coffee on the Quad’ – a great initiative that encourages sixth form students to gain invaluable skills, training and work experience they will need for the future.
It was a really enjoyable visit, and I look forward to returning in the future.
